A rank obscurity? from the nineteen seventies. Sunny and laid back at exactly the right angle of inclination and lifted out of the ordinary by excellent and subtle arrangements, frequently Janschy guitar and great lyrics – ostensibly throwaway but with hidden depths.

And it has the wonderful

on it!

Must've been a random CD purchase a few years back. "Amplified kalimbas, reverb-drenched guitars, catchy rhythms, vintage keyboards and psychedelic vocals invoke the holy trinity of tropicalism - Fela Kuti, Brian Eno, and Tom Zé, " reads the accompanying waffle. I'd say it's closer to "hotel elevator" and Ozric Tentacles.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Johnny Paycheck - Nowhere To Run:The Little Darlin' Years (1966-1970)

Before he became a caricature of himself. Very dark songs but chillingly great.

Richard & Linda Thompson - Woodworm Sessions

He's a better player and singer now but these sessions are marvelous.

Extraordinary stuff, a long forgotten album originally issued by Wire on their Dome imprint in 1982, and recently reissued. A busker who travelled around the world, sold all his instruments, and made his own stringed instrument out of a piece of an old door. Sounds something like a hammered dulcimer, to me, but it's lovely stuff.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

FLAMIN GROOVIES Flamingo

Apart from Teenage Head, I’m basically Groovies-ignorant. There are reasons for that but now that you can stream this stuff ... might as well dig in.
