Since finding the pdf of lyrics and explanations online (Note: Google "Alzbeth: Book of lyrics" for the full monster file), I've been hammering The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud again. Just listening to everything in any order on youtube now, while at work.

I'd still like to find a hard copy of that album and Amara Tanta Tyri. Seems impossible to find without dropping my monthly energy bill. I guess the digitals will have to do for now.

I've only got A New Soldier.., Rest on Your Arms Reversed, and Were You of Silver, Were You of Gold, and I was trying to buy these in shops that generally stocked World Serpent records at the time they were released. Not a single reissue of any of their albums since.

Jandek's second album, classic solo acoustic 'dek. Really is everything you expect from the man, slow strummed guitar with random twangs and pings, and his murmured mumbling arcane poetry. Intimate and impenetrable.

Sylvian and Derek Bailey. It’s an odd combination but seems to work on certain songs.

Second-division industrial/ebm type thing from the late 90s. One of those bands who aren't massively derivative, but somehow don't strike you as being particularly inventive either. Has a really good cover of Jon & Vangelis' "I'll Find My Way Home".

Just got the CD throught the post, the protective wrapping being a Toys R Us advert for Barbie dolls.

If there was only one band from the whole witch-house thing that you thought could go on and record something great, White Ring were it. Somehow though, the debut album being released 8 years later than their last EP, I'm not filled with confidence. First track is alright though, it has to be said.

That's brilliant. I wonder if that's a coincidence or they were making a statement there.

Did you get the reissue on Profound Lore? I love the extra song but I wish the album art was the same as the original self-released one. It's much better.
