Re: NOW PLAYING.
There seems to be a growing buzz around this pair, and from "If You See Me", I can understand why. Such a restrained, minimal variation on a mutant disco kinda sound. Hoping the rest of the album's as good, if it is, I'm getting it.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Lots of colour and energy to go with the sunshine. It makes a change from all the industrial noise and neofolk I've been listening to over the past week.

I remember discovering them, buying everything of theirs within a week and loving it all. Dunno why I stopped listening to them after that.

Thuja - Pine Cone Temples
Very abstract, low key, droney, field-recordy type of folk stuff from all the main players in the Jeweled Antler collective.

I never actually bought this album, because I heard some of the songs live and presumed it would be shit. But I'm really bored, and trying to put off writing a user's guide to cross-edition triggers in Oracle.

Sixth studio album from 1987, which was kinda where Tuxedomoon pretty much ground to a halt for a while. Those late analogue synths kinda annoy me.

All-time classic album, the best thing Colin Newman ever recorded (ooh, take that Wire fans), and a work of genius. The vinyl though, with the better cover than that up there.

Grateful Dead - Anthem of the Sun
New 50th Anniversary Edition which has both the '68 LP mix and for the first time on CD, the '71 remix. Plus, another disc of a complete '67 show which was Mickey's first - though I can't really hear him. If you've never heard this, or are in need of an upgrade, now's the time. The lenticular cover of the CD set looks like the above.
