This has no shame in wearings its influences on its sleeve, elbow patch, breast pocket, and every surface of its clothing but if you're a fan of gloomy and minimal 1980s synth-pop and post-punk then this will hit the spot.

I'm torn. That really is very, very derivative. But it does sound quite cool.

Yeah, I've got Contact Note which isn't all that interesting, either. What I've heard of the new one sounded pretty good, I just haven't got around to buying it yet.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Someone on FB, Griff, I think, was wearing a shirt with the design/logo from this record, which reminded me to revisit it. What a lot of absolute nonsense! EDIT: the second half isn’t quite as bad and even has fleeting nice bits.

You Americans!

It is a wonderful record that has only got better over the last 40 years that I have been playing it.

Well I’m glad it makes you fellers happy. It makes me puke! The first half, at least.

I've not heard that one for a while. I think I'm torn between Live During War Crimes #3 and Bring the Neon War Home, which are both sublime. There's probably at least 20 albums of theirs that I need but don't own.

Anyway, currently listening to Sex Gang Children - Song and Legend, can't find an image for it, and there's only so much googling for Sex Gang Children that I'm going to do on my work laptop.

The mix of melodicism, speed, tightness and head-banging intensity displayed here does immediately endear this to me. Still, seems like a band that needs to expand their musical horizons a bit.

I love their aggressive stuff with vocals and techno percussion (Neon War, Psychic Secession, War Crimes) but I think they're at their best when they're doing what is essentially an extreme version of ambient music. This and At All Ends (do you have that one?) somehow manage to make white noise and feedback gorgeous and wistful. Listening to them is like being pummelled into relaxation.

I'm listening to the latter right now.

Tons - Filthy Flowers of Doom (2018)

Sample song titles: "Abbath's Psychedelic Breakfast," "99 Weed Balloons," "Girl Scout Cookie Monster." I ordered this on Bandcamp and the cd was mailed from Rome.
