I considered this a bit of a low-key disappointment when it came out (though I remember "Cup" being lovely), and it's been left unloved on my shelf for a while. However, Crescent are releasing their first album in a decade in a couple of weeks, so I'm giddily excited, and seeing if this is due for a reappraisal.
Saving my holier-than-thou nonsense for a more deserving cause since '82

I don't like a lot of the uptight drumming, for a start. But the wonkier and more melodic things still sounded pretty good to me.

That's a familiar criticism of the band/album.... I don't like that early 90's sound so much but I love the drumming itself generally.
