In science, the most important criteria for success is not being stunningly full of shit.

When insomnia kicks in and I stop functioning properly, I always seem to revert to the goth classics for comfort. I was never that fond of this compared to the albums that bookend it, but it sounds bloody lovely right now.

Some free compilation of extreme metal from Zero Tolerance magazine of a few years ago. The only names I recognise are 1349, Myrkur and Anaal Nathrakh.

I'm counting this as the winner of the BCB album of the 21st century, and pretending the top 5 never happened. It genuinely is a great album, I don't know how they struggled to record barely a handful of memorable songs after this.

And onto what probably is the greatest album of the 21st century so far. Certainly the best random never-heard-of-before cheap CD purchase I've ever made.

It's gonna be a Peel Session Sunday night here at the ol' homestead.

Damn difficult to top this one.
