Mandy Cook, new singer-songwriter based in Nashville that I saw recently at a taping of "Songs at the Center" in Columbus Ohio.

LZII - RL

The famous early U.S. issue that made Ahmet's daughter's copy skip on her record player which resulted in a less dynamic pressing that was what the rest of the world heard for decades. The dynamic range is indeed deep and wide like the Mississippi river and it is very intense. You get something more than simply turning up the volume knob.

Edit: Songs like Thank You with the acoustic top end and low end drums from one of Bonham's classic performamces really shows off this pressing well. Jones is the secret sauce on this track.

How's that? Any actual Rave-Up content?
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

It can be hit and miss and the sound quality is fair to poor, but there are some rockin' tracks, such as this one.

Incredible debut album. Remember when everyone hated him because he was the most visible of the freak-folk bunch? I blame those people for Mumford & Sons.

What strikes me listening to this now is how conventional it is. Despite all their acid and long hair, their post folk-rock stuff is really very showtune-y and almost (dare I say it?) kind of square. Which isn't to knock it; it's very good.

I don't remember buying this, a solo album by Aidan Baker, who's better known for recording his solo stuff under the Nadja moniker. Nicely ambient so far, though I suspect the drones of guitars can't be far away.
