Anyone who knows me well knows I have an obsession with the long forgotten/were never known Oklahoma band Radial Spangle, who I'm convinced will one day be discovered as Godlike geniuses of mid 90s slacker melodies and nonsense lyrics. Well, this is an exciing day for me because I've finally got a physical copy of what's essentially their barely-released third album, recorded under another name because by this point it was effectively Laird & Tippens with whoever they could get hold of via more famous mates in Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev. I used to have MP3s of this but since washing my MP3 player years ago, have never managed to replace them till now.
It's fair to say it's not quite up there with peak Spangle, but I knew that anyway. Really, I was finding it hard to survive without the most splendidly-named triptych of songs ever, "A Pollen Saturated Break Up", "Gravity's Supple Truss", and "Her Desires Lush". Which are just as magnificent as I recall. That genius is still there.
