Paavoharju - Yhä hämärää

I may have mentioned this before, but this is just the most beautiful thing handed down to mankind by the Gods.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Covers ranging from "Morning Has Broken" to "Video Killed the Radio Star", via Einsturzende Neubauten. All female vocalists, the only names I recognise are Lavinia Blackwall, Baby Dee, and Cosey Fanni Tutti.

Typhoon - Offerings

Promo CD that I got given at Vinyl Exchange last week, to replace the cracked jewel case on an album I bought. Fourth album (apparently) by this lot from Portland, doing bedwetting indie in a grand orchestral style. First track wasn't too bad, as it happens.

Hmm. It's all a bit polished, mannered and earnest.

This description certainly exceeds my memory of this. Much more folk than psych, but then marketing obscure/foreign 70's records as psychedelic is a sound business strategy, I suppose.
