It’s interesting hearing the country side of Jansch. His writing and guitar playing are still magnificent.

Triple vinyl version.

I have that same copy. My second favorite album from them without a doubt.

Cheers. I'm not just being a tight-arse, I only use my work laptop these days for music downloads, and they could quite rightly delete this stuff at any time.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Lana Del Rabies - Shadow World

Thanks to Fish I decided to give her some money through bandcamp because I heard one track on YouTube.

Playing this now, thanks Robbie. I reckon there's definitely something about Lana, like you say, there's more than a hint of Pharmakon, it's like she's had a few cough sweets and chilled out.

Yeah, I rather like it. It's actually quite chilled out, in an abrasive sort of way. “Vicious End” is probably my favourite because it sounds like The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud if they discovered modern equipment.

Odd industrial/idm/ambient thing with a very strong hint of Skinny Puppy. I never did track anything else down by them.

Hypnagogic hip-hop is the perfect description of this. Easily one of my all-time favourite albums of the genre.

"Chance" buy for a quid at the flea market yesterday... this is bloody brilliant, why has nobody told me? And are there any other albums anyone recommends?

Latest from Jon Hopkins. His last, Immunity was the most interesting electronic album I've heard since the demise of Coil, so I have unreasonably high hopes for this.

It's the only recording I'm familiar with by this band, though I'm sure they recorded other things. I believe one or two members had previously played in Union Carbide Productions.

Sebadoh III

As you know, I have very mixed feelings about Sebadoh.

An actually interesting 60s album, so chances of discussion here: fuck all. No idea what it would have sounded like with Pete Best.

I haven’t listened to this in quite sometime and it’s just as refreshing as the first time I heard back it in 2006.

One of Coltrane’s greatest achievements. I’d still take A Love Supreme over it, but not by much.
