NP Jim Lauderdale - London Southern (Redeye)

2017 release I picked up in Austin last month. Another solid effort per usual for Jim. Recorded and mixed in London so not his usual choice of musicians in Nashville.

Throbbing Gristle - IIRC 17 (Live at the Centre Iberico London 21st Jan 1979)
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Since returning from my road trip I've been playing a lot of early Steve Earle. The one I've had in the player this weekend is Fearless Heart which is a compilation of sorts with a few choice covers (She's About A Mover and Six Days On The Road) and a lot of other excellent tracks. The Devil's Right Hand is worth cranking up a bit on the old system. I would like to have brought some of his work on the road but compromises had to be made since I was sharing space with someone who has issues with Texas singers (accept me of course :D).
