^^Did they skip your band? Looks like a Vol 2 will be coming along in the foreseeable future.

I'm not even sure I'm going to bother going to the store to see what they have. I haven't seen anything I feel I need to own and it's overpriced for the most part.

There are memos that have leaked about prices on new vinyl going up significantly, like 30-40%! No way I would be paying that kind of dosh for the new Dave Alvin lp.

I bought the Outkast record. The shop was dead...I was sort of surprised.
I saw that Sonics box, too...I really wanted it but cooler heads prevailed.

I bought the Massey Hall box as I realized I didn't own the music and they did a nice job on the set.

The SRV El Mocambo set had a hype sticker warning that due to the colored vinyl the records might not sound good and might skip. These weren't acknowledged as defects but nuances of the colored vinyl. WTF? That to me is like selling a new car that might not operate properly. You're supposed to just look at it not use it.

I couldn't maintain my cool...went back and bought this Saturday, and a fine set it is.
I know LITA isn't known for great sounding reissues, but it's freaking garage rock, right? Sounds ok to me, even better loudly.

Eh, there's stuff I may pick up at a discount after the fact (in particular, some of the Jazz titles, and maybe the Blaze Foley), but nothing I'll be camping out to get.

This rocks. I was listening to it just last week, recording is nothing spectacular but the performance is great (but not as great as the Speakeasy London '77 gig, the standard metric for all Heartbreakers recordings in my book) but worth a punt if they aren't charging through the nose for it.

Yep, the Blaze Foley is going to be on my shopping list.
Wonder about the sound on the Metallic KO - could be interesting depending on what they've done with ti, if anything.
I'm always surprised each year that they don't do a Pete Laughner rerelease/outtakes - it seems tailourmade for record store day.

Anybody?

Can I say that I find the layout/photo/lack of contrast issues of the site hilariously inept?

Yes, I can.
On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

It looks much better now.

I am certain the RSD people keep a close watch on BCB, and more precisely on the wise and insightful veterans who write there.

I am satisfied.
On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

OMG - what type of band calls itself The Clitboys?
On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

The (official) list is out!

USA Record Store Day 2016 List
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

MORE INFO
No performer and venue are as intertwined in excellence as James Brown and Harlem’s fabled Apollo Theater. There are many releases of Brown and his J.B.’s recorded live at the Apollo. But, the performance captured here, originally slated for release in 1973, was not issued after the funk-filled night of its recording in 1972. The material languished until recently when two cuts were included on 2013’s “Best of Live At The Apollo” with a digital release as part of a Live At The Apollo overview. But vinyl? This performance has never seen the vinyl issue it so deserves. In the early 70s Brown and the J.B.’s had reached, let’s call it maximum funk. The performances are impeccable and Brown’s sharing the spotlight with Lyn Collins (The Female Preacher), Bobby Byrd and of course the J.B.’s truly captures the scope of the Brown organization at the time. For the first time ever on LP, Get On Down is proud to present “Get Down At The Apollo With The J.B.’s” as a double LP set for Record Store Day 2015.

1. Danny Ray - Introduction Of The J.B.'s 2. The J.B.'s - Hot Pants Road 3. The J.B.'s - From The Back Side 4. The J.B.'s - Wine Spot 5. Fred Wesley - Introduction Of James Brown 6. James Brown - Never Can Say Goodbye 7. The J.B.'s - Pass The Peas 8. The J.B.'s - Honky Tonk 9. Introduction By James Brown 10. The J.B.'s - Gimme Some More 11. James Brown - There It Is 12. Danny Ray - Introduction Of Lyn Collins 13. Lyn Collins - Do Your Thing 14. Lyn Collins - Think (About It) 15. Lyn Collins - I'll Take You There 16. Danny Ray - Introduction Of Bobby Byrd 17. Bobby Byrd - I Know You Got Soul 18. Bobby Byrd - (If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right 19. Bobby Byrd - Keep On Doin' What You're Doin'
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

It's a pity the much anticipated picture disc of 'Seven Tears' by the Goombay Dance Band isn't going to see the light of day. Maybe next year.

Because the people demanded it!

First 7" I ever bought! Even so, I would't buy it now not even for nostalgia reasons ...it's hard to imagine who would be interested,
