See how far you can make it into this pile of shite!

I saw them live back in 1997. It was basically "Spot the Velvets song". They haven't improved.

You know you read sometimes how certain bands 'broke down the limitations of guitar-based rock', or whatever? Like the Velvets (and the Beatles before them) rewrote the rule book of what these basic line-ups can do? This lot are the absolute opposite.

They're a cult band, as far as I can see. You like 'em if you like 'em.

Well, if you like the Velvets and the Beatles, then you'll love these guys! They sound like a cross between the two!

I really don't get, and have never gotten, that mentality. What I respond to in music has always been about feeling some kind of connection to it. You know who's good at aping a sound? Faceless session musicians. Big whoop.

That came out in 2002, so even then, we knew they were just a band for indie record store nerds, like Sebadoh and others. I've never felt like I was supposed to dig them.

Cheers for that Miss Veranda. I didn't quite make it to the end because I didn't have time, but as I may have mentioned before, they're my favorite band still going, so I enjoyed that.

This bugs me enormously.

Just so bloody unctuous.

And yet this is worse. Released 10 years ago, I see. Dunno if it was a hit elsewhere, but I can't forget when this kept making its presence felt like a nasty spell of catarrh.

Ugh.

Waaaah! Waaaaah!

I once had an office job sticking letters into envelopes and her song was big at the time and this fat fucking fuck I worked with kept singing this shite over and over again. It was torture.

The boss let me go after a week cos I wasn’t “fitting in”.

This played on the radio this morning. It's my current least favourite ever.
