It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

That's a terrible record, but in the mouths of the Temptations, it's a great song.

He’s all mouth & trousers.
As I’ve said a dozen times I’ve got more stuff on my phone for free (in GarageBand etc) than NO had when they were at their peak.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

We could just post endless YouTube links to that lot and it would satisfy the remit of this thread.

Funny-bad, rather than vomit-bad, but still utterly worthless and stupid.

My point is anyone can get hold of the technology to write music for nothing.

But coming up with a decent effort Is not as easy as it looks as anyone who has written music will tell you.

You have blustered that you could write a better tune than NO before ... and failed comically.

It wasn't so much that I was boasting - that was your (and a few others') misinterpretation.

What I was saying was that many of us here could put together a song that would be every bit as good as a NO album track, given a day or two in a studio. It's not an outlandish idea by any means.

The fact that you have recorded a load of beeps on some app on your phone is completely and utterly irrelevant to what we're talking about.

While I am a great fan of old music, and appreciate other people extolling its virtues in certain ways, the "songs about record collecting" subgenre is particularly irking ...

A short-lived relationship I reckon, look how she handles those records @ 1:10 on.

It isn't. You've just picked the wrong band to make that point about. NO are one of the few with a genuinely complex musical intelligence, there's so much going on within their music (at their best anyway).
