Something I learnt today: a Peanuts graphic novel was released a year ago called Snoopy: A Beagle Of Mars. I haven't been able to confirm that the title is based on that of a certain Kaleidoscope album, but what else could it be?

I just recently downloaded a couple of Kaleidoscope sets from Wolfgang's Vault - one from the Ash Grove in '69, and one from the Newport Folk Festival in '68 (that's the better of the two). The 12-minute "Oh Death" from the Newport set has to be heard to be believed.

Forget the Ash Grove set, it's awful. I was actually thinking of a third recording, from Cambridge (MA) in '67 - that one was pretty neat.
