It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Re: The Jazz Workshop #2
Interesting to see Iverson's writing in a big publication. I could not tell that it was him, and that's not a good thing.
I really prefer his writing at his own site, https://ethaniverson.com/
The very long essays on Lester Young and Bud Powell are beyond what anyone else seems to be doing.
He's better than any jazz critic I've read, and to add insult, he does this as a second "gig". His main job is as pianist for the Bad Plus.

Re: The Jazz Workshop #2
I was listening to the Miles Davis Bootleg Vol. 2 this afternoon and then suddenly switched to Paul Simon to hear the lyrics
And she said losing love
Is like a window in your heart
Everybody sees you're blown apart
Everybody sees the wind blow
I feel like I'm finally recovering from my divorce, as much as one can. My ex sort of invited herself over to hear my copy of the Bill Evans Trio Sunday At the Village Vanguard MoFi 1Step after telling her how great it sounded. I told her I'd cook dinner and also invite my friend Richard over too. She said she'd make shortbread cookies, her old specialty.

Thanks, those lines used to really hurt but now I see them as some great lines in a song.

Interesting, I'll check out those links. Is there anything you'd recommend?
I did check out the first one which didn't seem much different to what Bukem and the rest of 'em were doing 20 years ago or so. I quite like that sort of thing, but I'd call it neither new or jazz.

I’m checking the links out myself but the sounds are more analogue/faux-organic to my ears.
