King Crimson (first two albums) lite but enjoyable nevertheless.

Like the excellent Karnataka this band seems to have a huge turnover in personnel with only Al Wynter remaining a constant - and yet, each of their 4 albums has been very good indeed. This is the most recent from 2023.

Neo prog a la IQ, Pendragon, Galahad style, so I suspect would only appeal to Neil Jung on here.

A very good band and two excellent albums.

I saw them live at the Dagenham Roundhouse on 21st February 1970

As it happens I think he may have listened to them a fair bit IIRC (not 100% sure).

Shame he doesn't post more really as it would be good to have someone around to discuss new music with. Oh well...

Agreed - the lad's a lightweight these days

I'm sure he'll pop in...

Never heard of them before but Spotify went into them straight after The Joy Formidable, and it is bloody good

Took a chance and ordered. Arrived yesterday, played twice so far. It's.......OK. Reminded me of the wonderful, (now no more), Maccabees, but, sadly, not in the same class

NEW MUSIC

I have always found Antony Kalugin's various projects pleasant but not exactly inspiring. His recent albums, and by God he's prolific - 6 albums and counting in the last 2 years - have been really good. It's hard to keep up. I think I need to have a week where I play nothing else.

It must be hard for his artwork bods to keep up but it is always of a very high quality!

Yes I’ve played This Winter Machine in the past. Pretty good but not quite good enough to open my wallet.

Derivative claptrap?

It’s certainly not one of those awful compilations the lad plays…
