From what I’ve heard Phil Collins was a far better live singer than Gabriel, whose performances on YouTube are almost universally horrendous. Studio material I’d take Gabriel’s depth and tone over Collins though.
It always amazes me seeing the change in Phil’s stage persona during the 70s.... the apparently quiet and shy one who stepped forward and became the manic uninhibited front man. Hell of a transformation and one that I admire massively.
My vinyl version (which would certainly have been purchased in the U.K.) has the 4th side as the studio material and to my mind it was definitely called Three Sides Live because that is what the album consisted of.
Later versions brought in the 4th side live...
Franck Carducci - The Answer
French Multi instrumentalist and his band are one of the hardest working on the circuit, always touring. Apparently his shows are hugely entertaining - I must make the effort to see him next time....
1st play of his new release isn’t grabbing me yet, but will give it time.
