New Decemberists album released

Postby Neige » 18 Jan 2018, 20:14

After their pastoral folk rock phase, the Decemberists dig out analogue synths.

I'm excited!!! :)

Well, that’s very different!

Love it. Excellent band.

Best music news of the year so far. At times, the best band in the whole wide world. The track sounded SO good ! Mid march release.

Well, after listening to it twice, it is decidedly a mixed bag.

The opening track is a clunker and I'm not very fond of their foray into glam rock.

But about half of the songs are absolute gems.

A third listen is necessary.

Atrocious stuff.
Their appeal is baffling.
Sorry.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Does anybody else start thinking of Slade at all while listening to it? I love it!

Their contribution (Sleepless?) was the best song on the wonderful Dark was the Night compilation, so I have been a little disappointed with their albums since then, but this new one is tremendous.

I like it.

Whether they go Prog or synthesisers it's always undeniably the Decemberists.
